Nairobi - Ol Pejeta - Mount Kenya foothills - Lake Naivasha

Highlands, Conservation and Nature Pack

USD 1650 from / person

A nature-lover's circuit through central Kenya's conservation heartland. Meet the last northern white rhinos and a chimpanzee sanctuary at Ol Pejeta Conservancy, walk the forested foothills of Mount Kenya, then finish among the hippos, birdlife and Hells Gate canyons of the Rift Valley. Ideal for families and photographers who want variety beyond the classic savannah.

  1. Day 1 · To Ol Pejeta ConservancyDrive north from Nairobi through pineapple country to Nanyuki, crossing the Equator. Afternoon inside the 90,000-acre conservancy: the chimpanzee sanctuary, the last-northern-white-rhino enclosure and a game drive among reticulated giraffes.
  2. Day 2 · Mount Kenya foothillsMorning game drive and a visit to the Baraka rhino feeding blind, then an afternoon transfer to the Mount Kenya foothills for a guided forest walk, trout-lodge gardens and - on clear evenings - the mountain's summit silhouette.
  3. Day 3 · Down the Rift to Lake NaivashaDescend the western side of the mountain via Nyahururu - with a stop at Thomson's Falls - and continue to Lake Naivasha for an afternoon boat ride among hippos and diving fish eagles, plus a walk on Crescent Island sanctuary.
  4. Day 4 · Hells Gate and homeMorning in Hells Gate National Park - cycle or walk between Fischer's Tower and the gorge among giraffes and zebras - then the two-hour drive back to Nairobi with an optional Giraffe Centre stop before departure.
